Car Interview
Mrs. Wheeler has a small, red tico, a Korean car. She bought it from a Chinese missionary that was going away for 350 dollars. The car is very old and most of the parts of the car are rusting. The car does not have any air bags and sometimes could not turn off and that has happened for about three times already. The left tail light and the door handle are both broken. There is no cover for the gas tank because it was falling anyways and she ripped it off and there is no air-con in her car.
Mrs. Wheeler had the car for about 4 to 5 months now. She thinks it was worth it to buy the car because she does not have to walk anymore to anywhere else and use the school car. She says that if her husband comes to Saipan, he would fix some things and improve the car a bit. She said that the windows could not go up and down because it is stuck and when her husband comes, he would fix the windows and other problems that he can fix. Then she would not have to drive in the rain anymore and get wet. She had chairs in the trunk so she could stop by the beach any time and relax there. She also had swimming things so that she could swim in the pool whenever she wants to and use her weights. She also said that if she had more money, she would fix the car rather than buy a new one.
Mrs. Wheeler says that if she did not buy the car and had enough money to buy a new car, she would buy a beetle for herself. She does not like the car. She also said that it was ugly and very small. The original owner duct taped some of the sides so that it would not rust more. She also had cardboard boxes for the oil leakage. She cleans the car when she drives through the school trashcan. She also says that it would not really matter if she put an air-freshener in the car, but she tried to. She said that in the States, she had two cars. One car was for the boys and the other car was for the girls. She also hopes that her husband could come earlier so that he could fix the car up.
